Q:  When I boot off the floppy disk, I get L then numbers repeating, or LI then numbers repeating, like so:

A: This is an error from the boot loader, LILO.  The number represents which
error has occurred, most of the time this is because the floppy disk is bad,
try recreating the boot disk using a new floppy disk.  You can also increase
the likelihood of success by performing the rawrite process more than once.



Q:  When I try to boot off the floppy disk my computer just boots into windows
like usual.

A:  Some computers have been configured to ignore the floppy drive when seeking
for which drive to boot from.  You may have to enter what is usually called the
"BIOS setup" for the computer and change the "boot order" to put the floppy
drive before the hard drive so it tries to boot off the floppy disk before
it finds your installed operating system on the hard drive.  This is usually
done by hitting the DELETE key during the BIOS initialization / power on self
test (POST) phase of booting, some laptops require hitting F1 or F10 or INSERT
or some other odd keys, it often says on the screen press THIS_KEY for setup,
this is what you need to do.
